on friday night we catered the League of Young Voters art auction.. got a ride up from marc on monday, spent tues+wed gathering various donated foods and having band practice, and thurs+fri we fugued on some low-stress quantity gourmet shit.  everybody suffered light incision wounds & we were up until 6 am the night before the thing stirring polenta and callussing up, but this sort of thing did not stop it from being a totally chill, manageable, inventive AND FUN catering gig.  once people started showing up at the gallery, the food went in like a second.  prepping area was ample, just kept making platter after platter of crostini, cucumber rounds, & cake.  kebabs grilled in the alleyway with samples gladly given to passersby and the back-of-house smoker crowd.  in general it felt like a supper club that had overflowed from the kitchen into the hive of the main room.. hastily-plated food still looked okay but you could taste the love, by the end of it people were eating whatever they could find.  wish i could offer you some, but you'll have to make the next one!
